Powered by the same DOHC Intercooled Turbo Diesel that is found in the rest of the Pajero range, the Short Wheelbase Mitsubishi Pajero does not skimp on power or torque.

It is in fact an accomplished off-roader and uses the rally-proven Super Select II 4WD System with Rear Diff Lock to move effortlessly between 2H mode highway performance and the more rugged 4H mode. This can all be done whilst driving, as long as the vehicle is doing under 100km/h, which means that driving mode changes can be made at any time.

From a visual perspective the biggest difference between the SWB Pajero and the more conventional Long Wheelbase (LWB) is that this version of the popular Pajero only has two passenger doors. This does impact on the length of the SWB Pajero, but thanks to some ingenious design work by the Mitsubishi engineers the shorter wheelbase does not translate to a nore cramped cabin. On the contrary, this version of the Pajero is full of comfort and convenience features that make any journey undertaken in it a pleasure, and it still easily carries a family safely from point A to point Z no matter how far the trip.
